Electro Permanent
Lift Magnets

ELEKTROMAG, the leading manufactures of Magnetic Lifting Equipment, have now added a new series of `EPM' Type Electro Permanent Lift Magnets to their product range of permanent lift magnets. These magnets have advantages of both, elctro and permanent lift magnets. They combine the safety of Permanent Magnets with the efficiency of electricity which enable a quick release of load. These magnets are now widely used in machine-shops, tool rooms to safely transfer ferrous work pieces without hooks, grabs and slings.

OPERATION

The operation of the EPM Electro Permanent Lift Magnets is very simple. The magnet is placed on the load to be lifted and switched `ON' for magnetising. After checking the load stability with short abrupt lift by jogging the hoist control, the load is moved to the desired location and switched `OFF' for releasing the load. These operations can also be carried out by remote control.

ELEKTROMAG EPM Magnets can not drop their load due to power failure as the magnets are permanent. No battery Back-up System is required and hence this is the most economical and safe solution to handling problems. Multiple magnet lifting systems can be used for handling larger objects.

FEATURES

  • Failsafe permanent magnetic holding power.
  • No load release due to power failure or cable snapping.
  • Positive action required for release of load.
  • No moving parts for maintenance.
  • Fewer Operators and helpers required for handling.
Limitations: EPM Magnets are not suitable for scrap handling. For best performance the steel surface should be flat and smooth, (preferably machined, sufficiently thick and compact. Irregularly shaped objects may not be lifted satisfactorily due to air gap. )

MODEL Recommended Lifting Capacity *- KGS Maximum Tear-Off Force-KGS
EPM 1250750
EPM 25001500
EPM 37502250
* Recommended Lifting Capacities are based on a 3:1 safety factor when lifting hot rolled steel that is flat, clean and at least 25mm thick. Lifting capacities are seriously reduced on steel that has uneven surface or is covered with paint or rust.
